The Celebrities Who Shut Down Mom Shaming Trolls Online

Meet the celebrities who’re rejecting the mom shaming trolls and prioritizing being great moms in their own ways.

Celebrities, especially women, face a ridiculous amount of judgement and criticism.

More often than not, the criticism is completely unfounded, especially when it comes to mom shaming.

Thanks to the internet, celebrities can be hit with a constant stream of judgement and mom shaming (booooo!). In the face of such intense and varied criticism, there’s no way to satisfy everyone, especially the haters. We’ve found some serious mom inspo in these celebrity mothers who’re rejecting the trolls and mothering in their own ways.

Love strong, gorgeous moms? Us too. We’ve rounded up some of the most famous ones for some serious motivation.

pink

Pink

One mama that you never want to mess with when it comes to her children is Pink. She has had many instances throughout the years of people mom-shaming her parenting and judging her children. She even challenges her followers to leave their parenting opinions but only to shut them down real quick with responses like this one: “Do check in from time to time to let us all what other teachings you may have for us, oh perfect f—ing stranger.”

Shawn Johnson

Shawn Johnson

Retired Olympic gymnast, Shawn Johnson, shut down mom shamers real fast after posting a video of flipping her 3-month old daughter, Drew, on an Instagram post. Even though she blatantly said that her daughter was safe in the post’s caption, many people had things to say, like “While she may have been perfectly safe, sometimes you are a bit rough handling such a young baby,” or “And not making her warm enough when you take her out. She needs at least socks if not shoes, as well, and hats.” Johnson quickly made it clear to all the haters in her comment, “Are you holding her? Have you physically felt her sweat when she wears socks? Or felt her strength when she stands? Or seen her fuss until she stands up because she hates laying down. Nope. You haven’t. I’m her mama. I know.”

Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis

Well-loved actress, Mila Kunis, has had her fair share of mom shamers, especially while breastfeeding in public. Yes, a thing as natural as feeding your children made people uncomfortable. Mila was not having it though, because she set the record straight by saying, "There were many times where I didn't bring a cover with me, and so I just did it in a restaurant, in the subway, in the park, at airports, and in planes. Why did I do it in public? Because I had to feed my child. She's hungry. It's so not a sexual act. I think it's unfortunate that people are so hard on women who choose to do it and do it in public. If it's not for you, don't look."

Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen is not afraid to play around with everyone who mom shames her. All the shaming began a few weeks after giving birth to her first child, Luna, because she and John went out for one hour without their daughter (who was being safely watched by someone else). Instead of people making comments about both of them, they only targeted Chrissy. But she was quick to respond with, "Funny there's no dad-shaming. When both of us go out to dinner, shame both of us so Chrissy doesn’t have to take it all. We'll split it."

At the end of the day, celebrities are moms just like every other one. They have their ups and downs with the outside world as well as with their children. But that doesn’t mean we should constantly put them on blast. Instead, refrain from leaving a comment next time you see something you do not like.
