We all want them to look as full as possible in our Instagram photos and between microblading, waxing, threading, and tweezing at home, there are endless options to groom your brows.
Well, there is a new trend that is sweeping over our “For You” and “Explore” pages on social media. Eyebrow lamination is the newest brow trend that we are currently obsessing over.
What is Eyebrow Lamination?
When we hear the term lamination we often think of office supplies, but this isn’t the case. Eyebrow lamination is a new trend that originated from Russia and is making its way to the west. Brow lamination takes your thin, unruly eyebrow hairs and smoothes it out while also lifting the hair in a more vertical direction. It’s essentially a perm for your eyebrows and leaves them looking fuller, thicker, and more shapely.
Does it hurt?
Before eyebrow lamination there was microblading, a treatment where you basically semi-permanent tattoo your eyebrows to appear fuller. Even though it did leave your brows looking thick, the process of using a needle to tattoo your brows could cause the client a bit of pain. Nobody likes needles, however, lamination does not hurt!
The process takes anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and is painless. No needles here! Like I said earlier, it’s like a perm for your brows. You leave the treatment on your brows with a clear wrap on top. Once the solution sets in the brows, you remove the clear wrap and are left with beautiful, feathery brows.
How long does it last?
If treated properly and cared for, eyebrow lamination can last anywhere between four to eight weeks.
How do I care for my laminated brows?
After treatment is done, it’s recommended that you don’t work out or wet your brows. It’s also recommended to not use any makeup products or avoid makeup removers and creams.
Is it expensive?
Depending on where you live and who treats your brows, the procedure could cost anywhere between $75 to $300. Make sure you do your research before deciding who you want to do your lamination.
