Lots of great things happened this year — let’s use that positive energy to smash goals we’ve set for ourselves.

With 2022 around the corner and uncertainty still looming, this coming year’s goal setting will look a little different. You might wonder if you should even get a planner. We think you should, it will still help you smash goals that you set for yourself, no matter how little they may feel. With precaution and safety measures in place, people are planning trips, going back to work, and resuming daily life with COVID-19 in mind.

Life Is Carrying on and You Should Too

With 2021 around the corner and uncertainty still looming, this coming year’s goal setting will look a little different. You might wonder if you should even get a planner. Well, you should. Even though there’s no vaccine in sight, states are opening up. With precaution and safety measures in place, people are planning trips, going back to work, and resuming daily life with COVID-19 in mind.

Your goals can be career-oriented. Maybe you’re interested in switching careers, and you need to revamp your resume to reflect the direction you want to pursue. You can set up multiple tasks that will help you achieve your principal goal. Maybe you need to take a few online courses to get some knowledge under your belt. Add those to your goal-setting planner or calendar.

There are so many goals to set that will help you run your life in 2021 more effectively. These goals don’t have to be materialistic. Set a goal to be kinder to yourself. To take care of your health and your body through acts of self-care. This could be by committing to read more often, eat healthier, or even pick up meditation.

Make an Appointment with You and Your Goals

Plan your goal-setting in advance. Don’t wait until January 1st to write in your planner. Set some time aside a few days a week to jot down the important things you want to accomplish; big and small goals. Just write, don’t think too much about what you’re writing down, and if it’s possible to complete in 2021, it doesn’t have to be in any order. The goal here is to get everything out of your head and on paper.

Once you’ve got all of your goals on paper, it’s time to sort them and break them down into smaller, manageable tasks. Give yourself a realistic timeframe to accomplish each task. Don’t overextend your capabilities to complete too many tasks at one time. You’ll get burned out, and if you don’t accomplish them on time, you’ll feel like you’ve failed, and you’ll feel overwhelmed with how many things you have to do all at one time.

There are several ways to organize your goals. You can arrange them by easiest to hardest, or you can plan them by adding deadlines. You know how you function best, so you should reflect that when you plan out your goals. There is no right way of doing this, so tailor it to your lifestyle and what works best for you.

So, grab a sheet of paper or crack open your laptop and start brainstorming those goals so you can plan and smash goals you’ve set up for 2022.
