You see it every day on social media. Friends, family, and role models you look up to like Gary Vaynerchuk, they’re all putting in that grind at their work and using the hashtag hustle. It’s become embedded in our society. If you want success, if you want to achieve your goals and dreams, you have to put in that hustle, and you’ve got to do it as much as possible. While it’s important to take action, you have to remember that it’s just as important to know your limits and know when to rest. Here’s the importance of having a "me day."
IT MAKES YOU MORE PRODUCTIVE
Taking a day off for yourself helps make you more productive once you get back to hustle mode. How? It gives you the chance to unwind, relax, and recharge your batteries. We’re not robots, we can’t work all day, every day, for the rest of our lives. We’re human after all, and we have our limits to how much we can work.
IT PREVENTS HEALTH PROBLEMS
If you hustle too much, in time, you’ll come to find that you’ll experience some problems. Depression, anxiety, chronic stress, impatience. You’re sacrificing your own health in order to see faster results at work. Besides your health, this will also affect your relationships with your friends and family. Too much work is not good for you and your loved ones. Stop, take a breath, and make it a priority to schedule a "me day" at least once a week.
IT CAN GIVE YOU BRIGHT NEW IDEAS
It’s amazing what happens when you take time for yourself. New ideas begin to flood your mind, ideas that can help you at work, with friends, or with your family.
So, remember, hustle, hustle, rest, repeat. Implementing that rest day into your schedule will invite great things into your life.
