I don’t know about you, but it has always been difficult for me to find a gift that will not only mean something to my significant other but will continuously be impactful. I know it sounds like a bold reach for a gift, but if you truly think about the items you have been given throughout your life, whether it’s a holiday or your birthday, there should be some that truly sticks out. Now I don’t mean those pair of jeans that you love so much, but rather something almost intangible that brings a smile to your face when it crosses your mind.
No matter if you’re giving or receiving a gift when the item is truly thought out and means something, the whole situation at hand changes to something more special. So this year for Valentine’s Day, I challenge you to give the gift of love notes. I know it sounds cheesy and small, but think about it... imagine waking up to a little push of love or inspiration written in the handwriting of someone you love. Now that is a gift worth giving.
I’m not saying you have to write an immense amount of notes that are sappy and overdo the whole situation, but rather post little notes around your significant other's apartment saying things such as, “you’re stronger today than you were yesterday.” This will not only motivate them to get going and take the day head on, but it will remind them of you, and actually mean something every day that they read it. Unlike that candle that burnt out a month after giving it.
Remember, it’s important to give a gift that’s thoughtful and kind, and little love/inspirational notes is just that.
