Fitness Tips For Getting Fit At 30
If you’re in your 30s, you’ve probably noticed all the changes your body has been going through. Getting fit at 30 may start to feel a bit harder.
Getting fit at 30 may sound hard, but its extremely doable!
You may not have noticed it when you hit 30, but, as the years go by, you realize you can’t party like you used to. Drinking the night before going to work is a no-go because the recovery time is a lot longer than it used to be.
Eating 4 slices of pizza and 2 scoops of ice cream isn’t the best idea because the ol’ metabolism doesn’t work as fast as it used to. You ache for virtually no reason. You also seem tired more often than not. Ahh, adulting, isn’t it grand?
Here are a few tips to help you feel great and start getting fit at 30.
Stop dieting
These fad diets that you keep trying out for six weeks at a time won’t work. The best option is to replace processed foods for whole foods. Load your plate with healthy proteins, carbs, and fats. Look for foods with ingredients you can pronounce and understand.
It may not be possible to stop eating fast food, but you can sure minimize the number of times you eat fast food. This will prevent you from feeling sluggish throughout your day. The more you choose healthy options, the easier it’ll be to build that habit.
Exercise routine
Push yourself past your comfort zone. Sprint on the treadmill, 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off. Do this for 10-15 minutes and call it a day.
Add weight training to your workout routine. Start with low weights that will exhaust you by the twelfth rep. Create a workout routine that will focus on your upper body and lower body. Don’t forget to add back exercises that will strengthen those muscles. The back is the easiest area in the body to injure. Make sure you take care of it.
Hydration
Drink enough water to flush out the toxins in your body and to maintain the proper level of hydration. We’re so busy throughout the day that we forget to drink enough of the right liquids that our body needs to function properly.
Drinking enough water will not only prevent UTI’s but it’ll help keep your skin looking plump as well.
Stretch
Even if you don’t go to the gym, you need to stretch to keep your muscles limber. Every night before you go to bed, take 5 minutes to stretch. Try to touch your toes. Reach for the ceiling. Try doing a downward and upward dog. Try easy yoga poses so you can stretch each muscle.
Shoes
Make sure you have the appropriate type of shoes for your workout sessions. They should be comfortable and made for the intended exercise.
Brands to check out are, of course, Nike, Adidas, and APL. There’s a price range for everyone. Plus, they’re stylish too. Who doesn’t like to add another pair of shoes to their wardrobe?
Discipline
All of these tips are great, but if you don’t implement them, they’re useless. Start with one small step and build that habit before you add to it.
Once you’ve built that habit, it becomes second nature. You can then incorporate the next tip, and you’ll see how easy it is to implement it in your routine. Don’t beat yourself up if you don’t get the hang of it right away. This is a process, and you’ll see that it’ll get easier as you keep adding each fitness tip to your daily routine. Getting fit at 30 will seem easy once you take control!
