World Party Day: How To Celebrate While Social Distancing
World Party Day aims to celebrate everything that’s good and optimistic.
World Party Day is on April 3rd, and we’ve got ways to celebrate it while social distancing!
According to Days Of The Year, “World Party Day is based on the idea that peace is not the opposite of war, merely its absence. The real opposite of war is party, and World Party Day aims to synchronize a massive, world-wide party to celebrate everything that’s good and optimistic.”
Sounds fantastic!
And it’s almost like technology has specifically evolved so that we can all stay connected through challenging times. While we’d all rather be celebrating World Party Day on April 3rd by heading out to our favorite bars/restaurants, hosting a party at home, or heading over to celebrate at a friend's house - technology has blessed us with so many ways to stay connected virtually. And now, it's allowing us to celebrate life with our loved ones while still practicing physical distancing.
Here are 4 ways to celebrate World Party Day on April 3rd while practicing physical distancing (formerly, social distancing).
Video Chat
The easiest way to stay connected through these hard times is to video chat! It can actually feel like you’re in the same room with the person you’re talking to. Host a party via Facetime, Skype, Zoom, or another video chatting platform. You can make food together, have drinks, play games - pretty much everything you’d do if you were actually in the same room. You can even host birthday parties!
Have a Movie/TV Viewing Party
If your kind of party is one that involves Netflix and popcorn, you're in luck. Throw on your favorite movie and have your friends watch it with you at the same time. You can video chat or text about it while it’s on. If you have Google Chrome there’s an extension called Netflix Party that allows you to stream a show or movie with friends seamlessly, or you can get Kast (formerly Rabb.it) which lets you connect online and watch anything you want to.
Use Social Media
Document your World Party Day celebrations from home on your social media platforms and encourage others to join in. The World Party Day organizers have created the hashtag #PartyDay, so you can use that to see how others are celebrating, too. Be sure to interact with your followers and other people that are using the hashtag the same way you’d interact with people at an actual party.
Go Outside
It’s called WORLD Party Day - so get out there and celebrate everything that makes the world so amazing. Just because we’re all practicing physical distancing, that doesn’t mean that we can’t go for a walk, a hike, get some fresh air, and take in all of the beauty that’s around us that we often overlook while we’re so caught up in the everyday hustle.
While you’re outside, make sure you keep at least 6 feet of distance between you and anyone you don’t live with (you can also wear a face mask if you want, just in case you're asymptomatic).
On behalf of Team MOBILESTYLES - thank you for practicing physical distancing & happy World Party Day!
