Fall Family Bucket List Social Distancing Edition

Fall Family Bucket List: Social Distancing Edition

The seasons may change, but we must continue practicing social distancing.

Don’t let quarantine ruin your autumn — here is a social distancing fall family bucket list you can follow.

Fallen leaves, pumpkin spice, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and cool weather are just a few things that we love about fall. Families love that autumn brings in fun activities that they finally can do inside and outside. This year is different from past years since we are still exercising social distancing; however, we can’t let that ruin the season. Instead, we created a fall family bucket list that you can enjoy during the quarantine.

Carve Pumpkins

If your family loves Halloween, this autumn activity is perfect for you. All you need are pumpkins and carving tools to get this fun activity of pumpkin carving started. Have fun, and get creative by carving funny faces or cool spooky designs. Your family can even have a pumpkin carving contest. After all the fun (and cleaning), stick candles or tea lights inside and show off your designs all night.

Fun Fact: Pumpkin carving began in Ireland in the 19th century. People made jack-o-lanterns with grotesque faces to ward off evil spirits.

Go Camping

Social distancing can still be exercised this fall with camping. Find a secluded area, whether it is a campground or your backyard, pitch a tent. Your family will have a grand time staring at the stars, enjoying the crisp autumn breeze, and telling each other spooky campfire stories.

S’mores

Now that you have a tent up and the fire blazing, we can’t forget about a camping classic — s’ mores. Your family won’t get enough of this ooey, gooey, chocolatey treat! Plus, they go great with campfire songs and scary stories.

Cook Together

Cooking together as a family not only creates amazing bonding time but also helps you continue staying away from others. There are tons of fall recipes your family can try like apple pie, pumpkin pie, stews, curries, soups, and more. Here are over 75 fall food recipes that your family can try out.

Play in the Fallen Leaves

As the season changes to autumn, the weather isn’t the only thing changing. The trees all around your home will change as well. By the end of summer, you’ll notice that the leaves are changing colors and fall down. A fun family activity, especially for small children, is to play in the fallen leaves. Rake up the leaves in your yard into big piles, and then jump in!

Drink Hot Chocolate

Finally, the summer heat is disappearing, and that fall breeze we’ve been longing for has arrived. Many people will opt for the trendy pumpkin spice hot drinks, but for a traditional taste, heat a cup of warm hot chocolate. Your family, especially the kiddos, will love adding whipped cream, chocolate sauce, marshmallows, and sprinkles to this perfect autumn beverage.

Craft with Leaves

Once you finish jumping into the fallen leaves, you don’t have to throw them away. Instead, bring the best-looking ones inside and have crafting projects. There are tons of crafting projects like making pressed leaves, bookmarks, and other creative ideas.

Just because we need to continue social distancing, doesn’t mean that we have to give up on fall activities. Take this bucket list and add more fun activities. Don’t forget to tag MOBILESTYLES App on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter all season long.
