MOBILESTYLES Quarantine: Mobile Beauty Services
Turns out, just like in years prior, mobile beauty services are important. When the recession hit in 2008, the beauty sector thrived.
Let’s give credit where it’s due — mobile beauty services brought back a feeling of normalcy and comfort into our lives.
Most people, including myself, had high hopes that a plan would be devised and implemented so the country could open safely. We’re still waiting for that to happen. Interestingly enough, there was an unspoken movement within the beauty industry that both parties — patrons and professionals — were going to continue getting beauty services done and also providing mobile beauty services to their loyal clients.
COVID-19 Didn’t Stop the Beauty Industry
Most people, including myself, had high hopes that a plan would be devised and implemented so the country could open safely. We’re still waiting for that to happen. Interestingly enough, there was an unspoken movement within the beauty industry that both parties; patrons, and professionals were going to continue getting beauty services done and providing beauty services to their loyal clients.
Some take beauty services for granted by saying they’re non-essentials, and that’s an argument that can be made, but you can’t argue that the mental stability it brings is real. If you look good, you feel good. A lot of beauty professionals were getting more client calls than prior to the pandemic.
Beauty Services Are Essential
With many people working from home and jumping on Zoom calls, looking put together is still important. Hairstylists and makeup artists headed to client’s homes to freshen up haircuts, colors, and get them dolled up for events that required them to show their faces.
MOBILESTYLES had an uptick in bookings that went up by 48% letting us know that clients want and need these services, not just to look good but to feel good. With all the stress that we’re collectively experiencing, and then, to top it off, you look like a frazzled, unkempt, hairy hot mess, it’s bound to mess with your psyche.
With the closure of salons, beauty professionals were left to fend for themselves during these uncertain times. Many of these professionals found a home with MOBILESTYLES. There was a 55% increase in PRO registrations since COVID-19 hit the states. Since the demand was so great, we could give these professionals a space to continue making a living during such unpredictable times by exhibiting and promoting their talents to their surrounding area.
It’s Not Safe for Everyone to Go to the Salon
As our country started opening up and allowing shops to resume businesses (with new CDC guidelines), it allowed people to get back in the shop for a well-needed pampering session. However, some consumers with underlying conditions aren’t comfortable stepping out into the world surrounded by sizable crowds. So a lot of these consumers are relying on services as MOBILESTYLES provides, so they can continue to feel good while navigating through this COVID-19-era.
These personalized at-home services have made a world of difference for people across the country. Being cooped up at home can make anyone go stir-crazy. The mobile beauty services that customers are receiving brings some normalcy and calm to our loyal clients. They get top-notch service within the comfort of their own home, with confidence in the safety measures that our professionals offer.
There’s a sense of joy and accomplishment that a beauty professional gets when they see the smile on the client's face because there is power in looking your best.
