Say goodbye to cookie-cutter resolutions, and say hello to these unique New Year’s resolutions activities!
Time to celebrate 2022 with these New Year’s resolution activities!
Some of us are over the common goals — losing weight, saving money, etc. — that’s why you need to do something new, and we have just the New Year’s resolution activities for you to try!
Practice Tai Chi
Find a new way to exercise and balance your emotions by trying out Tai Chi. Tai Chi is an ancient form of Chinese martial arts where an individual performs in a slow yet strong manner while also focusing on deep breathing and concentration. Studies have shown that this ancient exercise can help you relieve stress and anxiety. And, after the year we have had, we need some Tai Chi in our lives.
Start a Journal
If you are a stationery addict or want a healthy way to release your feelings, you need to start a journal. You can keep it simple by just writing in it, or you can go all out by adding many colors, stickers, washi tape, and other decorative items. There are many different types of journals you can start: a bullet journal, a diary, a drawing journal, and more! Remember that you can do whatever you want with your journal. However, do not be afraid to have fun.
Learn a New Language
A unique 2021 resolution that can come in handy in your life (especially if you travel) is to learn a new language. Whether you want to learn Korean, French, German, or even Hawaiian, crack open a book or join a class and get learning. With much practice and motivation, you can have a basic conversation in a new language within a matter or weeks. Plus, learning a new language is a perfect opportunity to make a new friend/study buddy who knows the language.
Take an Online Course
It’s never too late to learn something new. There are a ton of online courses that you can take from many different colleges and other places that offer certificates. So, that dream of becoming a professional makeup artist can come true. Or do you want to build important life skills like time management, customer service, and stress management in a free course? Then you need to check out Coursera.
Save $2021
Sometimes we make unrealistic resolutions about saving money, especially if we do not have a goal in mind. This year, stick to saving money by saving $2021. Luckily, we found an easy to read chart that helps you figure out how much you need to place in savings per week to get to $2021 by the last week of December. Plus, the amount they want you to save varies each week with the highest being $64 and the lowest at $10.
Create a Capsule Wardrobe
Always have something to wear for every occasion by building a capsule wardrobe for 2021. A capsule wardrobe consists of a limited amount of pieces that are versatile and can create many different outfits. Depending on your sense of style, where you live, and what pieces you have available, you should have about 37 items in your capsule. Having a capsule wardrobe helps you reduce your cost of clothing while clearing out your closet. For more help figuring out how to create one, check out this guide from Who What Wear.
Perform One Act of Kindness Per Day
This year, make someone else’s day by performing one act of kindness per day. We all need more kindness in this world. That is why this unique resolution is perfect for everyone, no matter your gender, age, or location. These acts of kindness do not have to be huge. It can be as simple as a compliment. This will not only make the other person feel great but make you feel good as well.
Your New Year’s resolution activities don’t have to be mundane. Instead, mix it up by trying one of the ones listed above. No matter what you choose, we hope you have an amazing 2022!
