Chinese New Year preparation has always been about celebrating another year with your family, close friends, and other loved ones. In that sense, there are plenty of ways you can celebrate the Chinese New Year without having to venture outside your home and risk catching COVID-19.
Decorate
Just because the pandemic is still going on does not mean that we can’t decorate our homes for the occasion. Go all out, and incorporate red and gold throughout your home. Or visit an Asian store online or in-person for more ideas and decorative pieces. And, don’t forget the red envelopes or dragons!
Make Traditional Foods
It’s not Chinese New Year without the yummy traditional foods. From delicious dumplings to deletable noodles, we cannot get enough of the food served during the Lunar New Year. When in doubt, have fun! Chinese New Year is all about celebrating with close family and friends and wishing them good health and fortune for the year. And, while many of us cannot see our family and friends, that does not mean we can’t spend the day with them (virtually).
