This natural inclination to the beauty industry set Brianna apart from her classmates and all other beauty professionals, which earned her a chair in a high-end salon in Manhattan following graduation. Working with experienced stylists and colorists was a huge stepping stone for her future as a recent graduate. She was able to work with people who serviced celebrities and public figures before her eyes and build up a clientele of public figures for herself.
Unfortunately, once the COVID-19 outbreak hit the U.S., she could not work in the salon, but her passion for the beauty and health industry did not stop there. She was able to stay busy and calm amid all the chaos by furthering her education and catching up on all the new hair and beauty trends, endlessly watching and learning from her favorite YouTube hair gurus, such as Brad Mondo, Jamie Dana, and Hair Buddha, and practicing and experimenting with the new styles on her mannequin head. Practice makes perfect. Even though she was confined to her home and not working, she was able to up her self-care routine with A LOT of at-home facials and masks (even a mask for your feet!) to avoid cabin fever. After all these masks, she'll have earned herself a cosmetology degree too!
Keeping her spirits up and optimistic, she joined the MOBILESTYLES App in the hopes of booking new clients, that allows her to continue to seek out new opportunities to work in a safe environment that follows and abides by the CDC guidelines and find a sense of normalcy to help alleviate any pressures due to the pandemic. As a new PRO to the app, she shared some of her favorite features. She said she loves the scheduling and menu features that are easy to navigate and very user-friendly. She also really appreciates the 24/7 support team that is always readily available for PROs during appointments to assist with any issues with the appointment or the app. She mentioned she has felt nothing but supported since joining the app as a freelance hairstylist PRO and enjoys the constant updates from the booking department about a potential client in the area. Lastly, she expressed she is delighted with the communication feature between herself and her upcoming client’s. This ensures she is completely aligned with the client's expectations, needs, and wants during the appointment to guarantee the client is happy at the end of the service. She adds this is also a great time to inform the client on new trends they can integrate into their look or advise them on their look and recommend a different style or additional services.
Building your brand as a beauty professional is crucial if you are serious about growing your career. As a professional, you must be committed to learning the ins and outs of several techniques, possess creative qualities that enable you to execute each clients' vision, have the energy to work in a fast pace environment and be on your feet all day, and the adaptability to stay up to date with the changing trends and integrate those trends. Brianna mentioned that to stay inspired every day, you must have the innate desire and will to learn and grow. She wants other new PROs to know that whatever sparks your interest, go for it and be grateful for the opportunity to fulfill your passion.
