7 Things You Need to do While Being Engaged
Being engaged can be an exciting time, but make sure you’re making the most of it!
Once the excitement wears off, it’s time to start figuring out the logistics of your engagement.
Being engaged and planning for your wedding is an exciting and memorable time in life.
Being engaged to the person of your dreams is a special feeling. Make the most of your engagement by identifying any logistical tasks you may need to do.
While you obviously know there’s an extensive process to planning your future wedding, there are definitely a few things you need to do as soon as you get engaged to make the whole process so much more fun and maybe even more manageable.
1. Tell everyone!
Obviously, the first thing you should do is announce it to your family and friends! This can be a simple text, phone call, or a social media announcement.
2. Post a photo of the ring
You know you’re going to get so many questions about the ring, so you definitely need to post a ring selfie to your Instagram or Facebook account for everyone to see. Let that bling shine!
3. Get your ring sized
Unless your partner knows you really well, it’s likely that the ring doesn’t fit you. When you get engaged, definitely call to set an appointment to get your ring sized. This process can take 1-2 weeks, sometimes more depending on the jeweler, so you want to do this ASAP.
4. Discuss a date
You don’t have to officially set the date at this point, but you need to talk about what time of year would work for both of you. Spring wedding? Summer? What is your vibe?
5. Talk about your budget
This is important. Hopefully, you have somewhat of a savings account dedicated to your wedding, but talking budget is something that needs to happen as soon as possible. Also, remember that you’ll very likely end up going over that budget, so don’t stick to a specific number.
6. Research venues
Venues get booked quickly, so checking to make sure your dream venue is possibly available is essential. If you have a specific date already set, this is the first thing you should do.
7. Plan an engagement party!
You just got engaged! You should celebrate. Whether it’s with you two and your family or planning a virtual party, you deserve to celebrate your happiness with the people you love.
Being engaged and planning a wedding can seem incredibly stressful, but there are always things you can do to keep your sanity while celebrating the happiest time of your life (so far)!
