The end goal of a Brazilian Sugaring session is to remove all the hair, which is the same as your typical Brazilian Wax. While the results of either the sugaring or the wax are uncanny, the process, products, aftercare, and smoothness of the skin may vary.
You see, in a Brazilian Sugaring session, the hair removal process involves a melted down ball of sugar that is mixed with lemon and hot water. It is free of the toxins that waxing brings into the mix. The therapist will then begin prepping you by cleaning off any lotions or oils and will apply a layer of baby powder onto your skin. The warm ball of sugar is then applied in the opposite direction of the hair growth and is quickly removed with a rapid flick of the wrist. I know this sounds very similar to the Brazilian Waxing process. However, rather than the wax sitting for a moment and hardening, the sugar is removed immediately, making the process go by much quicker. At the end of the hair removal, the residue that is left behind is easily removed with a damp towel, and you are good to go!
Sugaring is also quickly becoming a preferred method of hair removal because the pain is reduced greatly. This is because the sugar ball doesn’t stick to the skin, only the hair, meaning when the waxer rips off the hair, the skin doesn’t pull with it, which is a different story in the waxing world.
