After the Honeymoon Phase . . . What’s Next?
Are you recently married? How do you move forward after the honeymoon phase is over? Here are some tips to keep your relationship fresh!
But after the honeymoon phase comes the rest of your life.
So, what do you do after the honeymoon phase ends?
It takes effort to keep a relationship fresh, but it’s effort well-spent.
Some say the honeymoon phase is the best part of the relationship. After all, everything is new and exciting. There are butterflies. There is magic. With no effort at all, you find yourself getting lost in your partner’s eyes.
But that feeling isn’t designed to last forever. No matter how in love you are with your partner, the honeymoon phase is designed to expire.
So, here are some activities that will help keep your relationship magical.
Cook dinner together
Cooking dinner for your partner is romantic, but cooking dinner with your partner is even more romantic. Turn an obligation into an opportunity! Make dinner special for you and your S.O. and make a meal plan for your all-time favorites. Work together and make dinner a fun activity!
Host movie nights
Pick an old favorite, cuddle up, and get lost in the story. Feel free to talk over the film to share some of your favorite parts — that’s why it’s good to pick a movie you’ve already seen. Let yourself get lost. Having a subject to debate can be the best way to keep things fresh. An outside stimulus can be a great reminder as to why a relationship is strong and beautiful.
Do chores together
Adulthood is full of responsibilities. But if you reframe them, you can make them fun instead of bothersome. Turn chores into a game. Make it a break from the norm, as opposed to just a continuation. You can even make chores a challenge — person vs. person.
Plan fun outings
Life is short and relationships feel long, but that doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be fun in the meantime. Keep life spicy by planning fun activities for you and your S.O. Plan a trip to a museum or to the zoo! Find an activity you both love and give yourself an excuse to be goofballs. By releasing your inhibitions, you give yourself the chance to be happy together!
The honeymoon phase is a small part of most relationships. Fill the rest of the days up with beautiful memories and the opportunity to fall even more in love with your partner.
