Top 3 Dirty Hair Tricks For Looking Fresh
Sometimes, there are days when you simply can't be bothered to wash your hair. These are our favorite dirty hair tricks for those in-between washes.
These dirty hair tricks will keep you looking fresh a bit longer!
Washing your hair every day can be very damaging, especially if your hair tends to be on the dry side. Daily washing can ruin the natural texture and oil that your scalp produces. That can then lead to dull hair, lack of shine, and even split ends. Plus, washing your hair can be a lengthy process for some, and not everyone has the time to do it every single day.
Everyone’s hair is different, and if you don’t have to wash your hair every day, don’t! However, if you are concerned about your hair looking dirty, oily, and smelling less than fresh, we have some tips that could come in clutch for you. Keep reading for dirty hair tricks to keep unwashed hair looking fresh.
Use dry shampoo.
The best product to use when your hair is a bit dirty is dry shampoo. A popular dry shampoo brand is Not Your Mother’s Dry Shampoo, but other brands do the trick just fine. Simply spray some dry shampoo 6 to 10 inches away from your scalp, move the product around with your fingers, then brush your hair thoroughly.
Emergency? Use cornstarch or baby powder.
Need to go out last minute and don’t have dry shampoo? Don’t fret; grab some baby powder or cornstarch! The powders absorb the oil from your hair similar to dry shampoo. Pour either powder to the oily area on your head, move the product around with your fingers, and brush your hair. The powder will help your hair look fresh and clean, even if it’s not.
Put your hair in a braid or high ponytail (if you have the length).
You can never go wrong with an updo or a braid. If you choose a high ponytail, we recommend using a scrunchie. They are super cute and can distract from your slightly oily hair. Braids can also help you by disguising oily roots. Braids are simple to do and can camouflage dirty hair easily. If you've got the length and skill, we recommend two French braids since that style starts at the root of your hair.
With these dirty hair tricks, you can make your unwashed-hair days feel a bit fresher until your next shower!
