Super Bowl Sunday has become one of the most anticipated sporting events and watched television programs of the year. With the competition of the game, the roar of the fans and the classic commercials, people around the world come together to participate in this exciting occasion. This year, Super Bowl 54 will be played on Sunday, February 2 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. During the extravagant half-time show, we'll be entertained by the exceptional singing and dancing of Jennnifer Lopez and Shakira.
And what goes better with football, parties, family, and friends than scrumptious finger foods? Massive amounts of pizza, chips, soda, and beer will be consumed on Super Bowl Sunday. For those of you hosting parties, or even if you’re glued to your TV set alone, nothing makes the viewing experience more enjoyable than yummy finger foods. Delicious, Easy-to-Make Finger Foods
1. Honey BBQ Wings
- 2 lb. chicken wings
- 2 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp. paprika
- 1 tbsp. garlic powder
- Kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 4 tbsp. butter
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tsp. hot sauce
- Ranch dressing, for dipping
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and place a wire rack over a baking sheet. In a large bowl, toss chicken wings with oil, paprika and garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper and transfer to a baking sheet. Bake until the chicken is golden and the skin is crispy, 55 to 60 minutes.
For the sauce, in a small saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Add barbecue sauce, honey, and hot sauce and bring to a simmer. Let thicken for 5 minutes.
Heat broiler on low. Transfer baked wings to a bowl and toss with sauce until completely coated. Return to rack and broil for 3 minutes. Serve with Ranch dressing, if preferred.
2. Sweet and Spicy Nut and Pretzel Mix
- 3 tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 tsp. chopped thyme
- ¾ tsp. kosher salt
- ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp. ground red pepper
- ½ cup pecans
- ½ cup blanched almonds
- 1 ½ tbsp. butter
- 3 cups tiny pretzels
- 1 cup Rice Chex
- 2 tbsp. maple syrup
Instructions: Combine brown sugar, thyme, salt, cinnamon and red pepper in a small bowl. Combine pecans and almonds on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
Combine the pecan mixture and butter in a medium bowl, stir. Gently stir in pretzels, Rice Chex and syrup. Sprinkle the sugar mixture evenly over the pretzel mix, toss gently to coat. Spread pretzel mixture over the baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
Cool completely and serve.
