Top Beauty Trade Shows for Education and Networking
Take your career to the next level by attending a beauty trade show.
Attending a beauty trade show can help boost your beauty career.
If upgrading your career and skill set is important to you, it's essential to continue your professional education and stay up to date with what's going on in your industry, no matter your field of interest.
As a beauty professional, knowing about the latest techniques, product trends, and what influential people in the industry are doing will keep your clients happy and your wallet full. Here are four of the top beauty trade shows that should be on your radar.
1. America’s Beauty Show (ABS) - Chicago
ABS Chicago - Lizzy Sherman
ABS will come to Chicago from April 18-20, 2020, offering education, deals, and plenty of inspiration. You’ll be able to discover products from your favorite beauty brands and indie newcomers. You’ll also enjoy learning from big stage demonstrations and small intimate classes. ABS is largely geared toward hairstyling, but there are also educational opportunities and brand representation for estheticians, nail techs and makeup artists -- from classes on bridal makeup techniques to classic lash extensions. Classes include everything from styling, cutting, and hair color techniques to business tips.
2. International Salon and Spa Expo (ISSE) - Long Beach
Every January, the biggest beauty industry trade show on the west coast comes to Long Beach. ISSE presents over 200 professional beauty courses in professional hair, skin, and makeup taught by top educators. The best part is that many of the classes are included with the price of admission! Mark your calendar for January 30-February 1, 2021 for next year’s event.
3. Face and Body - San Jose
Face and Body - Lizzy Sherman
Spa professionals, from lash artists to estheticians to massage therapists, looking to expand their product knowledge and education will want to attend Face and Body in San Jose (Aug 31-31, 2020). While many of the beauty industry trade shows are geared towards hairstylists, this show is focused on skincare and spa services. It’s the perfect opportunity to stock up on your favorite professional products and tools at discounted prices and discover new brands.
4. Bronner Bros. International Beauty Show - Atlanta
Bronner Bros. is the largest beauty trade show dedicated to multicultural beauty with over 100 classes and more than 250 exhibitors. Attendees get access to workshops, panels, and more! Educational opportunities include classes on haircutting, hair coloring, wigs and weaves, barbering, skincare, and makeup. Topics include everything from natural hair care to trends and hair loss.
