Carry Hand Sanitizer

COVID-19 hasn’t disappeared, and that includes the times you are protesting. If you find yourself holding hands or touching other people or objects, then you need to carry hand sanitizer. After touching anyone or anything, squirt a few pumps onto your hand. Also, remember to not touch your face during the protests.

Mask Up

As we come together as a community to support the Black Lives Matter movement, we have to remember to practice health safety by wearing a mask. Coronavirus cases have spiked in many U.S. states, and with more people going out and protesting, you are exposing yourself to the possibility of getting sick. Remember to wear a face mask that covers your nose and mouth anytime you are closer than 6 feet from others.

Hydrate & Bring Snacks

Now that we are in the summer months, you must remember to bring water while you are protesting. You don’t want to find yourself fainting because you overheated especially if you are wearing a face mask. Also, remember to bring energizing snacks like nuts or protein bars because you may not have access to stores that sell food.

Dress Comfortably

Most protests happen outside and involve a lot of walking and standing. Make your time protesting easy on your body by dressing comfortably. This means wearing comfortable shoes and breathable clothes.

Pay Attention to Your Surroundings

One of the most important protesting tips to remember is to always pay attention to your surroundings. Be on the lookout if you see any dangerous activities, and steer clear of those areas. If you notice or are in any bad situation, find a safe area until things calm down again.

Now that you have your safety in mind, it’s time to get out there and protest. To learn more about Black Lives Matter, check out their website.
