How To Sport 2022 SpringSummer Fashion Trends on a Budget

How To Sport 2022 Spring/Summer Fashion Trends on a Budget

After months of staying at home, every opportunity to get outside can feel like a catwalk. We’ve put together some ways to sport SS fashion trends.

Here are some great and affordable ways to rock SS fashion trends this year.

For fashion editors and buyers, it feels like another lifetime when they sat front row watching the Spring/Summer 2022 collections breeze past. Who could have estimated that the world would spend months wearing glorified loungewear and pajamas just as the clothes shown on the catwalks were due to drop in stores?

Now that we’re trickling back to offices and socializing venues slowly but surely, it feels like a major joy to get dressed up again. Whether you’re a die-hard fashion guru, or just someone who likes to dip their toe into a new season trend or two, we’ve come up with a money saving plan for you to try your hand at the catwalk’s loudest statements and SS fashion trends.

Bermuda shorts

This season, Bermudas are big! As seen at Givenchy, Max Mara, Bottega Veneta and more, the long, loose silhouette is the suiting refresh we were all waiting for. You likely have a favorite blazer already in your closet, so opt for a pair of shorts in a matching hue and voila, you have yourself a brand new suit for work and play.

sheer

Sheer

Thankfully, one of the reigning trends of the season can cost you...essentially nothing. At Gucci and Instagram-favorite Jacquemus, it was all about sheer and sexy fabrics, styled with other garments in lace and silk. No doubt, you’ve a little transparent number just ready to be reinvented by pairing it with something unexpected.

dress

Revamp your white dress

At Alexander McQueen, delicate white dresses were toughened up with thick black corset belts and lug sole boots, while at Erdem the models virtually concealed all their features with extra wide brim boater hats, neck ties and elbow-length evening gloves. Over at Louis Vuitton and Molly Goddard, white dresses were styled with over-the-knee leather boots in punchy colors like pillarbox red. Take your failsafe white frock and give it a new lease of life this season by pairing it with a fun, contrasting accessory or shoe.

clothes

Waistcoats

Saint Laurent catwalk in her tiny shorts, knee high boots and an impeccably-fitted vest. Luckily, it’s quite an easy look to pull off — music to the ears of the non-supermodels among us. Waistcoats are often abundant in vintage stores and usually run pretty cheap. (That’s if you can’t fish a long forgotten slim-fitting one out from the back of your boyfriend/brother/dad’s closet!) Pair yours on its own with high waisted trousers, or over a white shirt and low-slung jeans as shown at Celine.

Wrapped ankles

In a case of life imitating art, this SS fashion trend appeared to first do the rounds on Instagram’s most-followed street style stars before inspiring designers. At JW Anderson and Toga, slouchy wide-leg trousers were tightened at the ankle by wrapping the straps of high heel sandals repeatedly around the fabric. Provided you have a suitable pair of strappy shoes, any type of pants can be cinched in, turning you into an instant fashion influencer.
