Exfoliating your skin is one of the most important things when it comes to preventing and eliminating blackheads. Use a facial scrub or an exfoliating brush to exfoliate away dead skin cells and buildup. Focus especially on areas that are more prone to getting blackheads (like around your nose.)

Environmental factors and not washing your face properly can lead to blackheads, but so can the pore clogging ingredients that may be found in your current skincare and makeup products.
