We all have that day, whether it’s once a month or once a week when calories simply mean nothing in our brains, and we want to consume just about anything that comes our way. Throughout my years of giving myself a “cheat day,” I have discovered through experience what places are the best to dive into, making it all worth it.
- Sidecar Doughnuts
Located in Santa Monica on Wilshire, this doughnut shop is an absolute gem. They have a delicious variety of doughnuts that, may I say, all taste absolutely amazing, and they are beyond Instagramable. They also have amazing coffee and a very nice sitting area for you to enjoy your doughy deliciousness.
- The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker
This restaurant sits right on Sunset Boulevard making people watching just as much fun as the eating and drinking. Between their delicious pastries and breakfast items to their colorful lattes, they absolutely crush the visual aesthetics as well as the tastiness.
- Rose Cafe
Holy, yum! This restaurant/bakery is delicious beyond belief and has an atmosphere I dream about. I have tried just about everything on this menu and have never once left disappointed, especially when I order the Cacio e Pepe. You can also watch as the chefs prepare your meals, and if you’re feeling like it, you can sit at a community table and meet some other fine folks!
- Malibu Kitchen
This small, hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop changed my view on a good sandwich. While this place is in the depths of Malibu and mostly provides for the Malibu locals, they truly know how to make some good grub. They fully stack the bread with delicious ingredients, and there are two goldens who sit outside the joint waiting to be pet. What couldn’t you absolutely love about this place?
