The Best Probiotic Snacks to Support Your Health
When I was younger, I was able to eat pretty much anything I wanted. I didn’t eat probiotic snacks and start experiencing digestive issues until my 30s.
Even if you’ve never experienced digestive issues and have a fast metabolism, you may need probiotic snacks.
When I realized I had digestive issues, I thought it was only when I ate certain vegetables like onions and garlic. At least, that’s how it started. I would get extremely bloated and gassy, and the pain that was associated with this digestive problem was almost worse than period cramps.
As the years passed, it seemed like everything would upset my stomach. I thought twice about eating my favorite foods because I knew stomach pain would soon follow. I wish I knew about probiotic snacks back then.
I got so used to passing up on dinner outings, because I knew I would turn into Ben Stiller’s character in Along Came Polly after he and Jennifer Aniston’s character ate Indian food. If you haven’t seen this movie, I highly recommend you do — it makes for a good chuckle.
Then, I discovered some tasty little treats that allowed me to enjoy all of my favorite foods again.
The Moment Things Changed
This year, I had enough. After dealing with it for so long, I decided to make the effort and look into my options. At the time, I had no idea where to start. My diet wasn’t terrible, I exercised regularly and steered clear from fast food.
The First Step
Because I followed several fitness influencers, I was introduced to 1st Phorm’s Opti-Greens 50. It’s a pricey product, but I purchased it and continued my search for more solutions in case the Opti-Greens 50 didn’t work for me.
I remember discussing my digestive issues with a friend of mine, and she told me I should also look into foods with probiotics. I had no idea what probiotics were, so I started my search and realized that from time to time I was consuming probiotics, just not enough to make a real positive impact on my gut health.
I purchased foods like kimchi, pickles, curtido (a traditional Salvadoran side similar to sauerkraut), and sauerkraut to incorporate into my diet. These were all foods I was comfortable eating, so I decided to add more foods to my diet. I started with tempeh and miso, which are also full of probiotics that the good bacteria in your gut thrive from.
Not only do these fermented foods have probiotics, but they’re full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that promote overall wellness.
There’s no question about the benefits of probiotic snacks, and everyone that has digestive issues should try them to aid in balancing their gut health.
After a few weeks of incorporating the Opti-Greens 50 and fermented foods like Good Belly Probiotic shots, kimchi, and curtido; I found that my digestive issues went away.
