Currently, she is Vice President of the U.S. She has many firsts to her name — the first female vice president, the first Black vice president, the first South-Asian American vice president, the first Indian-American female elected to the United States Senate, first African American and female to serve as California’s attorney general, and the first graduate of a historically Black college or university to hold the vice presidency. Melinda French Gates
Bill Gates’ ex-wife, Melinda French Gates, hit our list of one of the most influential modern day women. Gates is one of the most powerful women in philanthropy. She is the co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Her mission is to help people lead healthy, productive lives and women’s and girls’ rights. Right now, she is trying to close the funding gaps for female founders.

Another American woman to make a name for herself in politics is Janet Yellen. She became the first female to be named U.S. Treasury Secretary, and the first female to hold a chair in the Federal Reserve. To date, she is the only female ever to lead the U.S. Treasury, the Federal Reserve, and the president’s Council of Economic Advisers.
Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw
A woman helping the medical industry with the coronavirus is Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw. Mazumdar-Shaw is the richest, self-made female in India after finding India’s largest listed biopharmaceutical firm. Her firm has the largest insulin factory in Asia. Currently, she has teamed up with Adagio Therapeutics to develop an anti-body treatment to fight against COVID-19.
Zuzana Caputoza
Zuzana Caputoza became not only the youngest president of Slovakia but the first female president, as well. Starting off as an anti-corruption activist and lawyer, she started her five-year presidency in 2019. When inaugurated, she vowed to improve the overall justice system and fight impunity and corruption.
