Must-Have Fall Hair Color Trends for 2019

Golden highlights are going to be a popular trend for fall and they are back in a big way! We’re seeing them all over Instagram on celebrities and influencers. One style that shows off this trend is the warm golden highlights celebrity stylist Nikki Lee of Nine Zero One salon recently gave Lea Michelle for fall. 

Autumn Glow

Another fall trend that fits into a similar color family is glowing hair color which Nikki Lee describes as "rich and warm with flickers of golden light." Lee gave this color to another one of her celebrity clients, Mandy Moore! She shared with Harper’s Bazaar, "This 'Autumn Glow' is a wonderful new brunette color for Mandy."

Rooted Citrine

Another slight twist on the glowing trend is “rooted citrine” which Refinery 29 calls “the breakout hair color trend of 2019.” This color is low maintenance and looks natural as it grows out. It is described as “a cool, lived-in, yellow-gold shade that requires an insanely lax touch-up plan.”

Coppers and Warm Wine Tones for Redheads

Warmed up reds and auburn with colors inspired by an elegant red wine will be a requested look for fall. Recently, Rihanna has been rocking a pretty burgundy that is a perfect example of this trend.

If reds that lean more towards the purple end of the spectrum don’t suit your skin tone, stick to rich coppers, like the one recently sported by actress Madeline Brewer.

Inky Black and Satin-Brown

When it comes to dark hair color, Cosmopolitan says, “Thanks to the Kardashian-Jenner clan, we’re going to see a spike in rich, glossy brown hair with zero warmth.” Harper’s Bazaar confirms this trend explaining, “Long, black hair like Kim Kardashian's stands out, yet looks natural with all skin tones.”
