Denim styles straight from the fashion week runways — here are the spring 2022 denim trends you need to keep your eye on this season!
These are some of the current spring 2022 denim trends.
Spring is here, and it’s time for a little distraction to take your mind off of the stressful world situation. We’ve got a peek at the top spring 2022 denim trends of the season, straight from the fashion week runways. So, whether you're looking to shop the huge sales that are happening right now or just want to shop your own personal closet, here are this season's hottest styles.
While we did see tight skinny jeans on the spring runways, we also saw a lot of loose wide-leg jeans as an up-and-coming hot style. For instance, Gucci was all about a relaxed fit. With all the staying at home that everyone has been doing, we’re thankful that a comfortable trend is in style.
Chances are you have an old pair of ripped jeans lying around the house somewhere. If so, great news -- you don’t have to go shopping to be right on trend with this style. Ripped and distressed jeans are back this season as seen on runways including Givenchy's.
To go along with the above trend, many of the designers at the spring 2020 runway presentations showcased styles that looked like they could be vintage or a throwback to other decades. Besides ripped and wide-leg styles, we also saw boot cut jeans (think 90’s) and even bell-bottoms (think 60’s). Celine and Marc Jacobs opted for the flared styles.
Another item that will be popular this spring that you may already have handy in your closet is the denim jacket. Brands including Philosophy di Lorenzo and Versace both presented boxy denim jackets on their spring runways.
Patchworked and Ruffled Denim Skirts
For something a little more unique and unusual, we loved the mid-length denim skirt styles that showed up in several spring shows. Some of our favorite looks were seen at Celine, from a ruffled 70’s inspired skirt to a patchwork style button-up denim skirt. Jean skirts with a vintage vibe were also seen on the runways of Stella McCartney, Givenchy, Chloe, and others.
Even if you are stuck at home, it can be fun to get dressed in some of the latest on-trend fashion. Luckily, you may have some of these jean items already in your closet just waiting to be rediscovered. You can also find affordable styles inspired by these spring 2022 denim trends online from your favorite retailers, and there are many online sales happening now, so be sure to take advantage!
