Do you constantly feel sluggish, tired, and unmotivated?

While some of these feelings may be due to underlying health issues, many people feel this way when they do not have a proper self-care routine. Self-care is a must to help us function properly. Without it, we can find ourselves burning out and gaining new mental issues like depression and anxiety. That’s why we made this self-care checklist to use every day.

Sleep

Sleep is a must for every human. We can’t function (very well) without it. You may have caught yourself staying up most of the night over-analyzing everything. By the time you go to sleep, you only truly get a few hours of rest before you are up again. While focusing on your self-care journey, you need to make sure you get at least seven to eight hours of sleep a night. It may be hard in the beginning, but once you get your body in a routine, you will easily fall asleep.

Face Mask

Your mind isn’t the only body part that needs self-care but your face as well. Human faces go through a lot — they express emotions, they deal with the weather, and they are exposed to pollutants and other skin irritants daily. After a while, you may begin to notice your face is looking duller. Rejuvenate your face with a cooling face mask. Face masks are the ultimate way of relaxing and caring for your skin. There are many types of masks out on the market that targets specific issues. Before picking out a mask, figure out what problems you want to correct like dryness, acne, or rosacea, and then pick the mask that corresponds.

Lotion

Now that you are taking care of your face, it’s time to take care of the rest of your body. As temperatures change, so do our lives. Every day our bodies go through a lot. Between air pollutants and stress, your skin may become dull and dry. Alleviate this issue by applying lotion daily. Just like face masks, there are tons of lotions and creams out on the market. Each one of these has a different effect and scent. Make sure to do your research before purchasing.

Compliment

Sometimes all we need in life is a quick pick-me-up. We get so focused on the negative events that are happening in our lives that we forget to take a moment to relish in the positive things. That’s why every day, you need to take a step back, look at yourself in a mirror, breathe, and say at least three compliments about yourself or your actions. The more you send loving sentiments to yourself, the more you will love and cherish your entire being.

Quick Workout

Many people dread doing any type of workout. And, we understand the frustration that comes with it. But, did you know that an easy, quick workout can rejuvenate and refresh your mind and body? All you need to do is a low-impact exercise for about 30 minutes a day to feel at the top of your game. And if you have any issues or questions, contact your doctor.

Healthy Snacks

Junk food can make your body feel sluggish and tired, whereas healthy snacks will energize and keep you going for the day. Replace your sweets for fresh fruits and yogurt and your salty cravings with vegetables and nuts.

Water

Did you know that lack of water can dampen your mood, make it hard to concentrate, lead to lack of sleep, and dries out your skin? Improve all these areas by drinking enough water daily. For a healthy lifestyle, men should be drinking about 15 cups of water per day while women should be drinking about 11. This may seem like a lot, so aim for at least eight to ten cups a day.

You don’t need to forget about self-care. By following these tips, your mind and body will feel refreshed and ready to take on any day.
