Celebrity Twins You Didn’t Know Were Twins
Have you ever noticed how some celebrities have the same last names? These may be celebrity twins!
Celebrity twins are actually a pretty rare occurrence in modern day pop culture.
One in 250 pregnancies results in twins – and these multiples do not skip over celebrities. While there are famous twins like Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen or Dylan and Cole Sprouse, some celebrity twins are not as well-known or prefer to stay out of the limelight. That is why we created this list of celebrity twins that just might surprise you!
Laverne Cox and M Lamar
As one of the most recognized transgender actresses, Laverne Cox has a lesser-known celebrity twin brother, M Lamar. During the filming of Orange is the New Black, M Lamar stepped in as Laverne’s character, Sophia, before her gender reassignment surgery. Laverne continues to act, while M Lamar sticks around in the music industry.
Ashton and Michael Kutcher
Big television and movie star Ashton Kutcher has even more interesting facts about him. For example, he has a fraternal twin brother, Michael Kutcher. At a young age, Michael was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and had a heart transplant. Ashton and him have a very tight bond and are still close in adulthood. And, while Ashton continues to work in films, Michael is now a motivational speaker.
Rami and Sami Malek
Rami Malek won the world’s heart playing Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, but his twin brother, Sami Malek, may come swooping in too. Not only do they have similar-sounding names, but an uncanny resemblance as well. They are almost identical to the point of Rami filling in as Sami in past college courses.
Scarlett and Hunter Johansson
Scarlett Johansson may be kicking butt as Black Widow, but we cannot forget about her twin brother, Hunter Johansson. While Scarlett is older than Hunter by three minutes, he is an impressive foot taller than her. You may not know this, but Hunter has acted a few times, but he prefers working in politics like in President Obama’s 2008 campaign as a community organizer in Manhattan.
Nicholas Brendan and Kelly Donovan
You may know Nicholas Brendan as the goofy friend of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but did you know he has an identical celebrity twin brother named Kelly Donovan? Here’s a fun fact about this duo: when Nicholas could not film or needed a double in Buffy, Kelly would join in on the show.
Vin Diesel and Paul Vincent
Vin Diesel may be fast and furious in the movies, but let’s slow it down and learn about his twin brother, Paul Vincent. You may not recognize Paul on the streets because he is Vin Diesel’s fraternal twin. And while Vin went straight to the spotlight, Paul took to behind the scenes as a film director.
Kiefer Sutherland and Rachel Sutherland
Kiefer and Rachel Sutherland both ended up in the entertainment industry. But while we recognize Kiefer in many television shows and movies, his twin sister decided to work behind the scenes as a post-production supervisor.
Elvis Presley
While we may know of the King of Rock as being a solo man, he was actually a twin. Elvis and his twin brother were born in Tupelo, Mississippi, on January 8, 1935. The famous singer entered the world 38 minutes after his older brother. Unfortunately, the older of the duo was stillborn.
There are many more celebrity twins out there, so next time you have an itch to research something new, find as many multiples as you can.
